Audrey Judy Bush Elementary opened its doors on August 11, 1997.  The staff and students were proud to open a new school named after someone who was so important to Alief ISD.

Judy Bush was an employee of Alief for over 20 years.  Her career started at Kennedy Elementary in the cafeteria.  She later worked at Olle Middle School in the Workroom and finally at Alief Middle School as the Attendance Clerk until her passing.

Judy grew up in New Jersey, where she was active in sports and was even on a women's softball team.  She later lived in New York, where she and her husband, Walter were foster parents to over 20 kids throughout their years there.  Mrs. Bush's house was where all of the neighborhood kids wanted to hang out and they would always have the station wagon full of kids when going swimming or going to the movies.

Mrs. Bush has 3 children, Tracey, Beth and Chris and 5 grandchildren, Ryan, Dustin, Stephanie, Lucas and Emma.  Her husband, Walter, also worked for Alief in the Maintenance Department.

May people have fond memories of Judy Bush and remember how much she cared for kids.  She always made sure that the kids at school were able to get a hot lunch when they forgot their lunch or money.  Students and parents alike would come and visit her because they knew she would always listen and that she was such a caring person.

The staff and students at Audrey Judy Bush Elementary are proud to attend and work at a school named after such a wonderful role model.
